External Relations
I’ve been with Pet Care 8 years and currently working in External Relations for Pet Care supporting the Eukanuba brand. One of my main projects is managing the AKC Eukanuba National Championship that takes place in December. In addition to my role in the company, I’m also the chauffeur and care taker to Euka, our Vice President of Canine Communications. She has been a member of the Eukanuba family for 7 years.
My Life Outside of Work
I began my dog career long before I came to work at Iams and Eukanuba. My professional life in dogs began with a Siberian Husky that was a family pet. The breeder suggested showing Ch. Lobo Rey and we thought it would be a fun thing to do. We took him to his first puppy match and that led to a new hobby – junior handling and competing against top professional handlers in breed classes. By age 14, Lobo and I placed 4th in the group at the Westminster Dog Show and won 3 Best in Show titles. Eventually, he became the top winning Siberian Husky of all time.
My passion for dogs and making them look beautiful led me to a career in professional handling. Over the next 15 years, I was blessed enough to earn over 100 Best in Show titles, was twice voted Female Handler of the Year, and won Group First at the AKC Centennial Show and the Westminster Dog Show. Showing dogs is so much fun and it has taken me all over the world to compete!
In addition to professional handling, I’ve been an active breeder of several breeds and judged at many National and Regional specialties. Today, I’m still an active breeder of Boston Terriers and a handler part time. I enjoy working with dogs and I’m looking forward to hearing more from all of you.
